Zubat and Noivern by Alygator711 Zubat and Noivern by Alygator711
Took the time to color in those gorgeous free lines by *Mewitti. I've got to say that I'm in love with the way I colored this and I'll probably be using this method more often from now on.

Dude, this is lovely. Echoing the previous commenters that I really like the blotchy coloring style. Thanks for coloring my lines!

:) I'm glad you like it.  Thank you for offering the lines - they're, honestly, the best I've seen of Noivern so far and they were very fun to color.

Thanks, but you've got to remember, they're not my lines! The original artist is *Mewitti. :3

This is fantastic!!!
Its so bright and vibrant but the coolness of the colors keeps the energy low. It screams subdued but calculated excitement!
I wonder how you colored this piece (its reminiscent of oil painting)

I'm glad you like the colors! I took a while to decide on them; I wanted them to be more vibrant and exciting than the traditional Zubat and Noivern palette.
To color it I just put down a flat base using SAI's binary tool, then I took the marker tool and, working one color at a time, I dabbed in lighter and darker colors until I was satisfied.
